- Introduction

Doping is prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) primarily to protect the health of athletes and for the sake of fairness in competition. There are currently more than 30 Doping Control Centers maintained by WADA accreditation globally. In Korea, the Doping Control Center of Korea Institute of Science and Technology has been accredited and it has been working toward anti-doping efforts. As the black market for studying and using illegal doping methods in the sports market continues to increase, it is equally as urgent to develop new anti-doping control systems.

This laboratory intends to develop and apply a new concept of doping analysis, and is focusing on research to verify its effectiveness as an actual doping analysis using the biotechnology, immuno-diagnostic techniques, and high-sensitivity mass spectrometry.
